About Us

Effective utilization of every drop of water through micro irrigation is imperative for improving crop productivity, production and to achieve sustainable improvement in living standards of small and marginal farmers of State by improving the water use efficiency through micro irrigation and farmers can get assured additional income.

Telangana State Micro Irrigation Project:

  • Micro Irrigation Project (MIP), a unique and comprehensive project, launched in November 2003.
  • At present Telangana Micro Irrigation Project, a unique and comprehensive project is being implemented in 32 districts of Telangana state.

From 2023-24 Micro Irrigation Programme is being implemented under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) – Per Drop More Crop.

Components of Micro Irrigation:

  • Drip Irrigation for wide spaced crops (Online)
  • Drip Irrigation for closed spaced crops (Inline)
  • Mini & Micro Sprinklers
  • Portable, Semi Permanent & rain guns sprinklers

Unique Subsidy Pattern:

All category farmers in revenue village irrespective of their economic status are eligible for Drip Irrigation / Micro Irrigation systems up to 12.50 acres or land holding possessed by the farmers in Title Deed, whichever is less, with the following subsidy pattern:

  • All SC/ST Farmer are eligible for 100% subsidy.
  • All BC farmers are eligible for 90% subsidy.
  • All SF/MF farmers (other than SC/ST) are eligible for 90% subsidy
  • All other caste farmers are eligible for 80%”.
  • Portable sprinklers: all category farmers are eligible for 75% subsidy limited to 2.50 acres unit only.

Highlights of the Micro Irrigation Project In Telangana State:

  • At least 25% of the financial target allocated to the State must be earmarked to Agriculture crop sector in drip including Sugar cane, Sericulture etc.
  • Providing of 10 years after sales service to all Beneficiary farmers instead of 5 years earlier.
  • Providing of crop wise agronomical manual printed in Telugu to all farmers.
  • Providing of service centers by MI Companies at all Revenue Divisional Head Quarters.
  • The Maximum subsidy given to the farmers in Telangana State is 12.50 acres i.e., in terms of Rs.5,61,185/- which is highest in the country. No other state is giving this much subsidy to farmers.
  • Penalties for Violation of the Guidelines for Micro Irrigation Programme is strictly following in Telangana State.
  • 28Nos of MI companies were empanelled in Telangana State Micro Irrigation Project (TSMIP). Selection of MI Company is as per Farmer Choice.

Transparency in Implementation:

  • Telangana State Micro Irrigation Project is being implemented through “Online Web Portal” (www.horticulturedept.telangana.gov.in).
  • Farmer has to register his application with bio-metric and aadhar card.
  • Farmer has to register his application with bio-metric and aadhar card either through Mee-Seva or through the website (Aadhar linked OTP) (www.horticulturedept.telangana.gov.in)
  • Farmers will get 5 Nos of SMS alerts to know the status of applications i.e., 1. Immediately after registration ,
    2. Preliminary Inspection,
    3. About payment of Beneficiary Contribution,
    4. Administrative sanction details and Trench cut,
    5. Release of final payment.

  • Farmer can track his application status Online through Farmer Portal with his unique HP ID.
  • Geo Coordinates are obtained for all the beneficiary fields and Geo fencing is proposed to avoid duplication and for easy monitoring.
  • Every field is Geo tagged in Bhuvan app of NRSC as per GOI Guidelines.
